If your not intending to do a DSB or Plenum in the maintank, not necessary to buy 200kg of CS.

Get a shallow refugium of same surface area as your main tank and use massive algae nutrient export? Then you can cut down on the amount of sand to use.....

if u r going for dsb definitely ard 200kg of sand. dsb at least 4" thick.

DSB will need time to mature and take effect. some need at least a year to start working. I think its better to go for more LR to aid combating Nitrates then relying on DSB. A good skimmer also does wonders.

and DSB are known to crash in some ways in a few yrs. So depends on your appetitie for risks with such a big tank, you wanna risk a DSB crashing or would you rather remote the DSB to a refuge or sump that you can take offline if needed.
