What corals u plan on keeping? If sps u need G2-230w like the one i'm using, if just softees n Lps then G2-160 or 180 will do. Heres the link to DELightings http://delightings.com/index.cfm?GPID=30 or u can contact Razali directly from the sponsors' section in this forum. Also if budget isn't a problem then go for the cree LED upgrade, the color pigments of the corals really stand out with the cree upgrade. Prices all stated at the DE website.

that is not very true , i have seen in US tank that 160 W can also keep SPS but the issue is that if u have 4ft tank , g2-230W is not suitable and you will need to use 2x G2-160W to fit into the tank nicely otherwise the corners of the tank will be very dark ..

And now i am so happy with this lighting .... :groupwavereversed:

Humble tank :

Size: 4x2.5x2 ft - Display

Equipment :

Return 1 : Ecotech marine L1

Return 2 : Ecotech marine M1

CR : Skimz CM122 - Caribsea extra course media with Grotech magnesium

Light : ATI 8x54W

2 units of 160w = $1440 (w/o Cree upgrade) just to cover a little more dark areas vs 1 unit of 230w = $1150. The other issue is of cos why ppl are choosing LED units in the first place, which is to save on electricity bills & eliminate heat.

2 x 160w = 320w vs 230w ... u do the math. But like what i mentioned earlier if a person is big on budget he can put 10 units of lighting over his tank for all i care.
