how big is your tank?

if its portable,

the Glass cutter shops at Kelantan lane will drill

for you.

or if you want, purchase a glass drill bit and DIY.

once the tank is glue up.. drilling a hole is courting death.. they crack damn easily.. unless u prepare to change the bottom of the tank.. get the i-box.. better...

How big is your tank? I think reefer guy may still have one! I think is 600g/hr if I am not wrong....check with him.

I know a guy who can drill a hle for u at ur home but he told me before, no guarantee. But usually nothing happens. I have asked everyone so far and everyone told me the same things.

After drilling the hole, I here would advised to have 2 glasses to cover it up to withstand the water pressure so wont happen anything. PM me if u need his number.

You need to know more about the way a overflow box works and preferably have 2 connected as redunduncy. So if one break siphon, you have the other to do the job. The overflow box are used as a last resort. Plus it is not cheap.

You need to properly maintain it with regular cleaning of the siphon to prevent dirt or bubble built up which may restrict or break the siphon. Cos overtime, bubbles and dirt get trap at the top the the siphon and when enough can break siphon and flood your floor.

The safest way is to bring the tank to a glass maker and get them to drill for a fee and do the internal overflow. Doing this yourself is quite dangerous as if crack can throw tank away liaoz. Dun think even the glass maker will garantine the tank wont crack. Y not just sell off and get a properly made one. jus my suggestion.

Tanggy your right about maintaining the siphon tube but that is if your using a clear siphon tube. In US most of them actually change it to PVC pipe therefor no or very little algae growth happens in there. I've been using my overflow for over a year now with no problems at all. Never had any flooding and it always starts automatically Further more I can adjust the water level when i want and also use it on another tank if I wish too. My 2cent.
