but the thing abt NSW is that, its subjected to fluctuations.. i have experienced periods where the water just doesnt seem right.. thats why i change water very frequently, because i use NSW.. :)

no prob!

Your collection is making me want to try sps again... LOL....

lol bro, be the first one (i think), to do NPS+SPS in 1 tank!

anyway my collection of sps is nothing in comparison to the pros here.. just some basic sps letting it flourish.. still fine-tuning the water quality and waves.. :)

wa water parameter.. u're really testing me haha.. all i recall is, Ca kept at 450-500, Nitrates below 20.. thats all i test for, last month.. :) because i use NSW, and water change every other day, i never tested for any other parameters, nor added any additive, except iodine and Iwarna Top-up..

fatality on birthday..

came home late last night to find the picasso whitecaps both having a very weird fungal-looking lump-growth, by the time i catch them out, too late, have lost both of them..

DEFINITELY something fishy going on in my waters, not good enough.. apologies to bro Fuel for disappointing him.. i will be staying away from anymore fishes for the time being, until i'm sure i rectified the issue..

r.i.p. little buddies.

Hmm. I believe using NSW is like taking a gamble everytime do wc. Hope no major issues with the water. But if it has, usually can't tell until it's too late.

Using salt mix, as shared by various bro, ensures you operate in a more "controlled" environment.

Though it's more expensive (di unit, resin, carbon, salt, pump... Blah blah blah), I think I wanna have peace of mind. No worth taking this risk.

Was at Changi beach yesterday. Not sure if its normal but saw 6+ dead crabs, 5+ dead catfishes and other fishes. Wanted to bring the dead horseshoe crab back home for display but its too smelly lol :pinch:

Any idea why the terrapin died beside the beach? Someone actually throw it into the sea?

u are right bro, but i wasn't expecting this time the "risk" to be that great.. must be the drastic change in weather conditions.. :(

Unbelievable! How can anyone thought terrapins can live in the sea!

But come to think of it why terrapins cannot survive in the sea? They are not fishes so as long as it does not drink the seawater it should not die wat.

Also i sea turtle only live in the ocean but why if we put in reservoir it cannot survive?

yupps, very heartbroken over my picassos.. could be bad water quality or new tank syndrome.. and the fact that NSW is funny made my increased WC even worse..
