Clown fish body is protected with coat of slim which prevent the fish from being sting or harm by the anemone. Which is also why you will only see clownfish hosted on a Anemone and not any other fish !

Dont think the anemone ate your fish, maybe it might be hiding somewhere ?

what anemone exactly? if its a carpet (haddoni) den maybe.. some clownfish are not instantly adapted to carpets.. thus run a risk of getting eaten if your anemone is a carpet..

My overflow is only a small slit, unlikely that the fish has been sucked in, there are no tubes in the tank except blowers. The sump is behind the tank and fed by overflow water. I am quite sure the anemone ate my clownfish.
