Base on your pics actually white tape will do the job!

But as for y still leak maybe due to improper installation.

Doesn't mean put on white tape n stuff the pipe into the T elbow will do.

There is a certain method. Tape must be of the right amount when taped onto the pipe.

Too thin will become loose n too thick will have difficulties putting in. Mostly will end up never reach to the full depth.

1: make sure both elbow n pipe edge where u intend to tape r cleaned.

2: apply white tape clockwise till your desire thickness (normally 3 to 5 rounds should be enough)

3: turn pipe slowly (clockwise with non tape side facing u) and at same time push pipe into elbow.

This is to ensure the direction doesn't goes against the tape n result to tape coming off.

Keep turning while pushing till cannot go in anymore.

Use a mallet give pipe a few knocks should secure it...

Btw can ask how long is that piping? If too long,it required some support at the other end.

Another way of getting it fix n wun leak.

Use cement! Just go any hardware shop ask for cement for PVC pipe will do.

1. Clean both pipe where cement need to apply.

2. Apply thin coat (make sure all round contacted)

3. Push pipe into elbow.

4. To double confirm, apply another layer around the elbow.(the area where your pics show the white tape)

Note: Cement is something where once glued cannot take out liao. If that pipe need to pull out every now n then,u r not advisable to use cement coz u will need to destroy the pipe in order to remove.

If I have aquarium safe silicon, is it alright to use that in place of the PVC glue and just follow the steps you outlined above?

your so called aquarium safe silicon is meant for? If it's for glass I think can't really work well on PVC pipe.

But there's definitely silicon for PVC pipe exsit.

its not leaking now but will leak when i accidentally knock it

have to apply force to stop the leaking

the pipe is app 60 cm

sump -> chiller -> skimmer

^--<--60 cm pipe--<--

I suppose it leak due to vibration since u mentioned u knock then leak.

Anyway 60cm is very long for pipe of such diameter. More than half meter liao.

U will need something to act as support at the other end of pipe where not tape or glue.

Otherwise will tends to tilt downwards.

Note. If u intend use cement to glue it,after follow those steps I mentioned to u,u need to place something to act as support on the other side of pipe until the cement is set.

i also recommend pvc glue for securing purposes. which the glue also can be removed with a heat blower like hair dryer.

if you need to remove it time to time, then perhaps use more white tapes.

or glue a short portion to the output and from there, use a flexible hose secured with rings or cable ties.

there is also a product in the market whereby its a tape is so sticky and water proof that is used to stop leaking after you tape it on site.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Agreed with law...

I've come up with another super good way for securing it.

Process is troublesome but once done, future will be damn easy for u.

Take out the T joint, cut thread on the T joint as well as the pipe.

In future u just have to screw them together to secure n unscrew them to part it...

wow looks like there are tons of method to secure piping temporarily

currently using white tape + sealant + black tape

the other end supported by black sponge

if it doesnt work, will try PVC glue

thanks all for the input

have a great weekend
