HELP. I have a yellowtail coris in a REEF tank.

Recommended Posts

I don't keep a FOWLR but I need help trapping a fish out of my reef tank, and i thought this might be a good place to seek help.

Does anyone have experience in trapping Yellowtail Coris? Need to get it out before it destroys my reefscape.

disclaimer: i wasn't the one who put it in.

im not sure abt a coris wrasse, but i think they are quite safe to a large extent.. with the exception of small inverts, and toppling small rocks..

anyway, here's how i usually catch fishes, especially wrasses:

you can try putting live brine shrimp into a ziplock bag (make sure its transparent), and then placing the bag inside the fishtrap box.. this makes sure that the live brine dun flow out of the box, yet remain visible to entice the fishes..

usually curious and greedy fishes can't resist live brine, and will swim into the box to try eat the live brine.. placing the trap near the fish's hangout usually increases ur chances..

good luck! :superman:

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Ya do more research.

Research will make u headache free n wun get the wrong fishes to put in the wrong tank.

Put a transparent acrylic to part corner of tank. Open slight gap big enough for fish go in.

Put for days till fish get use n dare swim close to it then u throw so sinking pallet into the parted place. Fish swim in u close it.

Some1 doesn't 1 2 do anything find an excuse,some1 1 2 do something find a mean!

Another good way to trap your fish as I've just used it to trap my 4' domino damsel.

Get 1 of those plastic tank with vent n opening at top center type.

Hang tank using fishing line, put some stone in tank make sure sink.(5'' below water surface will do.keep top center opening open)

feeding time throw food in plastic tank.

My domino damsel gets in exactly n immediately the food sinks in lol.
