Finally decom my 4ft tank and setup my new 5.5X2X2.5ft tank on 17 Sep 10.

Basically, the 0.5ft is the overflow.

In my new tank, I will do without some of the equipments except the basic which is the skimmer.

I will get an aquatronica dosing pump where all the rest of the additives will be provided by my good friends (imported from oversea which is used by those researcher on marine).

Those include bacteria mulitpler (after putting bacteria starter) and allow the water to be cycled.

It will be followed by Bio Mineral and the along the way phosphate remover (solution that pour into the tank where the chemical will start to bind the phosphate and the skimmer will skim all those out after binding.

For Lighting, I have custom made a 5ft LED light with all bulbs imported from oversea.

The box for holding the lighting will be professionally made.

And, my good friend will do up the lighting for me.

To make things easier, all LEDs are replaceable if there is any problem as compared to some of those commercial where replacing the spoil LEDs are very difficult.

you see aquatronica you should know who's the maker already. haha :)

Good Try MarcoVan, though there is a aquatronica product installed, but the entire setup has nothing to do with aquamarin. For those who want to know on who had assist in the make of this tanks, piping and trunking can PM me separately.post-1898-087199200 1286287409_thumb.jpg

Basically, I will do away with CR and FR as of now and I will monitor a few products which brought in from Germany.

Those products are not commercial launched and available in the market. However, it has been tested and proven by those aqua-culture re-searcher.

(1) Bacteria Multiper

This product is a white powder which be easily dissolve in water and it only used once upon setup.

Once you have introduce the bacteria booster into your tank, you will place this product after that.

I was told by my friend not to use the filter for a few day to multiple the good bacteria (in millions). What we can see from the look of the water will turn cloudy in few hours time. I should have taken the picture but missed to do so. The effect of the cloudy proved one thing according to my friend is that the bacteria is multiplying. It will take a few days till a week to get the water back to clear view. The clear view means that the bacteria had been absorbed into the sand or rocks. Do not know how true but this is the definition by my good friend which is used by him first.

(2) Bio Mineral

It is white powder form which will be easily dissolve in water and I can either manual dose it or eventually make use of a aquatronica dosing pump.

What can it help me? The Bio Mineral comprises of many mineral in which one of those is Calcium. My friend who used it 2 months ago in his tank and Calcium rose to above 500 (overdose). Just imagine, how effective this product as compared to a CR which required a few component which make it work.

(3) Phosphate remover

This is a solution (a bit yellowish) and once you introduce it, it will bind all those phosphate and some others. You will see your skimmer very brownish and at times turned black after 1-2 days skimming. Again, I have forgotten to take a picture of it. However, if I were to dose once more, I will get my camera ready at the skimmer shoot.
