Cyanobacteria??

Hi,

My tank has purplish, reddish and orange patches, but they do not form air bubbles? Are they cyanobacteria?

if it looks slimy, then it is... the bubbles on cyano can easily be blown away by the current in the tank so not necessarily does cyano need to have bubbles....

purpilish is usually coralline algae

Also my tank is starting to show some red fungi-like growth, some like branches, some like fungus. Is there a need for concern?

it doesnt look like a mat, more like sticks, feels solid, but small chunks, like branches from a stem.... almost like crystal??

what in the world is that! lol.. have not seen such things before... maybe coralline algae.. a pic would definately help..

that's red algae - looks pretty sometimes but left unckeck will surely overrun your tank in due time.
