Looks like majority Ulva, the long stringy ones you have are similar to Roidan's.

They are not Chaetomorpha.sp.

Here's how its supposed to look like: thick & curly, fresh green and hard to feel.

yeah i know...

picked up the real chaeto before remember?

but i noticed that as the chaeto grew...

it became less thick and dark and hard...

i think due to my tanks poor conditions at that time...

i also read somewhere that there are 3 variants of chaeto in singapore... most found at chek jawa...

1. Chaetomorpha crassa

2. Chaetomorpha gracilis

3. Chaetomorpha linum

maybe the one i have is one of the above...

i was having a BAD TANK DAY today...

first the air con was to be replaced and the water pipes had to be drilled just next to and above my tank... <_<

i wasn't at home... so i came back to a tank lined with a thick layer of dust on the glass... it was ALL over my equipment too... anyone know the composition of my wall? do ya guy know if the powder that got into the tank contained copper or phosphates? :(

then my anthias dies and gets dragged away by a fireworm...

i don't know the cause of death but i sure think it is the damn worm...

then my squarespot anthias breaks out in ich!

and my sunburst goes missing!!!

ahhh!!!

Hi..sorrie to hear the bad news....

Your tank has quite a number of fishes, and the white ich outbreak looks 'serious' too.....better try to control them fast....

btw, the death of the fished shouldn't be due to the ick...could be the noise of the Drilling that frighten and stressed them, therefore some died and some stressed and kana ick.....the dust, probably wouldn't pollute the tank much...but maybe you want to change some water, just to be on the safe side.

thanks man...

the squarespot died today...

found sunburst dead too...

the rest of the fish don't show any signs of ich...

hope they will be fine...

btw... will carbon and phosphate remover help get rid of the dust that went in... just to be on the safe side?
