yeah perhaps not enough lighting.

my elegance got that patch when i shifted it down, it didnt have those when more towards the light.

or maybe, which is less likely, too much light.

whats ur stats?

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Besides, lighting you may want to check on your water parameters. A slight swing of nutrients and temperature could cause elegance to recede and expel zooanthelae (bleach). Looking at your recent pics shows that your elegance signs being stressed by environmental factors.

I agreed with bro Gouldian & that's what I told tagie... Shld be the water condition that cause the burnt... I experience it on my previous elegence and other button coral as well... cos i'm a lazy feerer who do not measure my parameter often.. :paiseh:

But anyone can tell bro tagie if the coral has any chance of recover from the burn? My experience told me that there is 'no chance at all'... :cry2:

there is a good chance imo. i've brought back bleached lps before but with much care and attention. your water perimeters has to be right first.

may i ask if you run a chiller? and what is your set temperature if you do?

thats good. i attribute most lps bleaching cases to temperature.

in your case you might want to watch the elegance and see how it goes from here, thats if your water perimeters are in check. supplementary feedings of small pieces of meaty food might help boost recovery but do not overfeed. if it carries on receding in its not a good sign  from your latest picture the flesh has already gone of the skeleton edge.

cheers! and good luck!
