Help to confirm this crab

Hi, Just manage to catch this crab last night and its about 2.5" in size !

Need the kind help of bros to confirm if this is a hairy crap or good or bad "crap" before deciding what to do with it.

dump it in ur sump it an hairy crab

but this kind so far never see it attack my sps

however hard to catch it in my tank too deep and too big

Thanks steven for the answer. It's already there. i suspect it murder my hermit crap or it could be the pistol shrimp... but this guy is hug compare to the normal hairy crab you see..

it is Spineback Hairy Crab or Gorilla Crab. Known to be non reef safe..

Gorilla Crab, Black Finger Crab, Xanthid Crab or Spineback Hairy Crab

ya i do have the same one in the pic think it bout 1.5inch now hiding in my rock can't really see it now.

but once awhile i see it shell means it changing it shell

kind of brown/red strip right? If so it the same.

i don't think it'll kill ur hermit crab more like ur pistol shrimp will be the culprit

Oh really.. Saw it quite often... I use to refer it as Spineback Hairy Crab or Gorilla Crab.. Thanks..
