Finally I see some fruits of my labour after 3 months of planning; had to do a lot of reading up as well as to meet my tank maker (Vincent from Aquarium Artiste) multiple times to set up the tank.

Before setting up the Main tank, I had already set up a holding tank for myOnyx clowns from Coral farm. I couldn't stop myself from buying them as they were just calling out to me!biggrin.gif

The tank runs on a natural filtration of Live Rock (approx 8kg), LiveSand (1 Bag) as well as 1Kg of Biohome Plus in the Sump. Bacteria from Henry@Marine Life is being used for kick starting the Nitrogencycle.

There is no Skimmer used, I intend to use my Refugium to do nutrient export. Rowaphos is also used to reduce phosphates simultaneously. There is also a weekly change of 15% Saltwater mix.

A Hailea 1/10HP chiller is used to maintain the water temperature at 26degree celsius. LED lighting is used. A modified Maxspect 110W, 5 White LED changed toViolet LED.

Food feed includes:

NewLife Spectrum Small Fish formula

Henry'sReef Gourmet

ReefNutrition Live Phytoplankton

ReefNutrition Tigger Pods (whole bottle in Refugium)

Intend to get: 2xPeppermint shrimp (aiptasia control, irritated with a few persistent ones)

Anyone knows how to reverse the fish sleep cycle? Especially for Christmas wrasse? :)

He has the habit of coming out of the sand at about 8am and by 2pm its back in the sand. I am trying to get them most active between 6pm-12midnight as that is when my tank lights will be on.

Would cloaking the whole tank for a few days and feeding only the tank at night change the fish habits? Of course the light cycle would be automated and regulated by the Maxspect.

Currently I'm feeding them twice a day and I will reduce it to one feeding at night at about 8pm.

Photoperiod now is also reduced, running only 4 hours from 8pm-12midnight as some of my corals were keep in a tank with just my study lamp and blue led on for 6hours, the intensity of the light is very much lesser.

Hence the acclimatization period of 4 hours photoperiod. Will adjust according when I observe the corals to be doing fine. :D

One more thing, would Peppermint shrimp attack any of the fishes? ESP Mandarins? Or would my Peppermint shrimp be whacked by my Wrasses? pinch.gif

Very interesting setup! Is your fuge and sump on the sides of your main tank? Care to show more photos on your filtration system?

You might wanna consider getting the mods to shift your tank thread to the Nano section.

Yup the Fuge and the Sump is at the side of my tank. Hmm photos huh, a bit hard to take as its totally covered up. I can shoot from the top but see nothing. Maybe I draw up a diagram over the weekend la. :D
