nulibranch care..

Hey guys....

I just bought 2 nulibranches... the boss of R*born kinda called them flying nulibranches cause they have 'wings' at their sides and I think can swim short distances thru water....

I ain't excatly sure of their species though...

Anyway... I placed them in my FOWLR tank (not my larger reef tank cause I know the danger they pose) full of macroalgae with very lil other LS... Cleaners, urchins etc....

I read somewhere that they chow on algae (sponges and the like too but my FOWLR tank has none) and wanted to ask how true that was...

How do I keep and maintain these beautiful creatures and what excatly do I feed them with? Thanks for advice!!!

Hey man you got it!! It's the spanish dancer.... Absoloutely stunning animal... Simply amazing.... Beautiful....

However it's pretty sad to know that noone in this forum has so far been able to maintain these creatures..

Hope someone who has kept these amazing creatures before will stumble upon my thread... :)

Anyway thanks for all the help so far.... They're alright so far and hope that they will stay that way....

Problem with nudibranches is that there seems to be too little info about them respective to their beauty...

Yet many people I know have claimed to have maintained nudiranches and so I decided to try what I can to maintain them...

Thank you guys so so much.... :thanks:

Hey there, guys.... My Spanish dancers still seem perfectly fine after a few days of keeping them.... It's simple stunning to see them 'fly' thru my tank....

Anyway, I still hope to get some advice on keeping them so any is welcomed yah? Thanks....

What should I do if they do die on me? Activated carbon?

Yeah slugs are pretty specialised feeders. Some lfs will tell u they feed on algae but except for the lettuce slug, the rest dont . Some will feed on sponges n soft corals.

Sigh... I got a bad feeling my slugs won't live for five months... Sigh...

I'll get some sponges for my spanish dancers... Hope they don'y die on me too soon...

What are their lifespan anyway?

No one knows their lifespan in the wild..it is hard to estimate life spans of most specialized nudibranchs as very little people have chances to keep them to their full lifespan in aquaria..not to mention the difficulties of estimating the lifespans of wild nudibranchs...

Other more well understood species like lettuce nudibranchs should have recorded lifespans in captivity already.

Always something more important than fish.
