I feed them with feeder fish mollies and try to chase them near the frog fihes. They are damm lazy fellas, and will only eat when the food is near their mouth. :) Quite a sight to see them catch the prey with lightning speed. My colleagues love to see them eat. But now the trigger is getting all the food first. I am going to bring the trigger home.

Have you ever tried feeding with feeder shrimps?:evil:

I got it at a discount from LFS at Pasir Ris. Still okay. I have more expensive fish at home (discus)...

I have tried with feeder shrimp before, but they do not last long in salt water. Mollies last longer.

They are frog fish or angler fish. Quite funny if they want to lure the prey, they have this "bait" thingy on their head which they wave to attract the prey. This is probably why they call them angler fish.

Hmm, so mollies last longer in saltwater? I thought its not good for the marine fishes to eat "too much" of freshwater fish?

Issit? Why is that? Please share. I will also like to find out how does the other forumers feed their frog fish...

i think one is closer to 3 inch..and the other is about 2.5inch.

oh well, I am looking for the really small ones. I have two baby size ones in my house, size about less than 1 inch. They are sitting on my makeshift ric garden in a floating chamber in my main tank. I am worried that they will disappear into the main tank of rock and I fail to feed them.

Anyone seen any small ones around? care to tell me?

And Boltthrower, they are kind of lazy but when they are hungry they sometimes take the initiative too. I used to have a damsel in the same tank, thinking that the damsel is too fast for them, but alas, I have been searching for the damsel in vain for the past week. Not too hopeful that it is still there.

But a word of caution, these fishes are quite agressive. It won't be so nice if they attack your precious clowns/tangs/anthias

Aggressive!! nah they are not, in fact they are considered docile and onyl pose a threat to other fish if they are small enough to be swallowed.

small enough means it will swallow any fish thats as long as it. There has been reported cases of angler swallowing a antenna lion.
