Why isnt my skimmer skimming as much as before

My skimmer isnt skimming as much as it use to before. Actually it hardly skeems at all. Am currently using a Skimz SM200.. Can anyone help me in this..thanks

What did u recently added into your tank / sump ? I have zero skim for about 1 week after i put in Bio-pallets in my sump previously. If not, try adjusting your air/water mixture ?

clean your pump and check whether any choke in the air take-in tube.

Skimmers are very sensitive to oily substances. Even dipping in the hands to arrange the rocks will affect the skimming. On the other hand, it will just foam if there's nothing to skim.

i think it is likely due to to air intake

just wash my skimmer and now the performance is good as new(by looking at the bubbles produced)

If it still has bubbles, then it's unlikely air intake.

You may wish to check salinity level.

its just like why a skimmer will not work in freshwater.

more things in the water = more things to be skimmed.
