hi bro, i had this alvopora coral for 2 weeks... it does not extend fully, at the most, the tentacles extend to 2-3mm that's all. Also, the moment, i turned off the lights, the tentacles retracted totally in 1-2 mins. i tried to position it different places it's not improving. The current position is at the tank sand substrate, low water flow, moderate light. Could anyone advise?

check your water parameter.

its not right.

check PO4, Ca, KH, pH, NO2, NO3.

I would check Ca and KH more.

and if possible, do a water change.

all the best.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

from what i experience in my early days, when my Ca and KH are too high, some corals don't open.

maybe you can try lowering your Ca as your main priority as a current problem solving solution.

They said that this is an easy coral to keep? My goodness! You should ask how long have they kept this coral in captivity and share their secrets.
