Mh without chiller

im wondering of anyone of u guys are using MH with fans only??

if yes, can tell me:

1. size of tank

2. waltage of MH

3. height of MH above water

4. is MH in a hood?

5. how many fans?

thanks guys,i know its a little bo liao to a few pple, but it will help me in my decision for a new tank

1. size of tank = 4ft x 2ft x 2ft

2. waltage of MH = 2 x 250w se mh

3. height of MH above water = approximately 8-10 inches above water surface

4. is MH in a hood? = in a hood but top is open

5. how many fans? = none

hard to believe and some may say its impossible... my water is maintained from 25-28deg.... best is see it to believe it....

note: what may apply for me doesnt necessarily apply to everybodyelse... so dont take this as an advise, but rather trying to

share my specs.....

right.... if aircon is off, highest it goes is 28-29deg... that's y my photoperiod is at late afternoon til night....

ah^siao, no need for such exclamations.. as i have said i know alot wont believe, and im not here to prove anything to u... im here to share my specs for drewy.... a few reefers have been to my place, and they know what im talking about as they have seen it.... chill!!!!!

aircon is only on at night time.. during the day, without lights, 25-26deg..... if i on my aircon 24hrs i think it'll be better to get a chiller is it???

thanks for sharing, reefer guy do u think a 150W MH for a 2ft cube with open top hood is acceptable, with 1 fan blowing at water and 1 fan as an exhaust for the hood.

I am quite sure the evaporation rate is very high and it is pretty much useless.....I have tried using home standing fans to blow at my tank and the temp hovers at 29 degrees!The evaporation rate makes me top up half a bucket of water everyday.Unless you use a auto top up device like tubby,else it will cause the high fluctuation on salanity...causing stress to inhabitants.After i got my chiller,temp is maintained at 25 deg with 1 degree differential.There is only a minimal amout of evaporation nowadays

i dont advise u to use fan... everyone knows that u need chiller to run mh lights... its just pure luck for me i guess..

4. Pendant type

5. single fan, 45 degree tilted facing water surface.

Living at Sengkang, temp: 25 to 28.5, everyday top up abt 2" of water.
