The article was a good read. Tks for posting. Would also want to share my experience in combating hair algae and cyno which wiped up my entire collection of sps. I believe it all started when I was trying out a product. After that, it was hell break loose. I even took out the rocks to scrape off the algae and changed my live sand. It's like a re-start. After the re-start, I cycled for abt 4-5 mths with minimal fishes and lights. Also dose bacteria. When alls clear, I turn my lights on and took bk my remaining corals. Within 3 weeks, the hair algae returned. I had to reduce my photo period and did water chg on a weekly basis. Still, not much improvement. The turning point came when I bought a bunch of astrea snails that bulldoze my hair algae. I added more cleaning crew like hermits. I'm also dozing zeozym and zeobak daily for a week now. I'm really happy to finally be able to see some light in this tunnel. Hopefully, able to enjoy this hobby again when I can start keeping sps again. :)

Yes, it did for me. This is my 2nd week now. Can also use zb with coral snow in the am and zz+zb at night. Read abt the effectiveness of that combi as well for more serious cases.

zb +zz in the evening and PCS+zb in the morning are the best combination

it really works

PCS have neutralising effect and ZZ have the ability to control the organic growth of cyano. with both are the best problem solver

Hi, can you give me a link which helps me understand this course of treatment as I have the red slime problem that just won't quit even tho' I physically remove the cyno every fortnight and make a 20% water change. Phosphate levels are in check but altho' nitrate readings are undetectable with standard testkits, I am guessing it is false reading as the cyno feeds the NO3. My tank is only 6 mths old.

Please also advise where I can buy the 2 treatments you mention. I do not want an antibiotic treatment as I have heard it affects the beneficial bacterial balance in the tank.

Congrats bro. It took me 3 weeks of daily dosing of zeobac and Coral Snow before seeing results. How's your other zeovit dosing? Seeing results yet?

Hi Anne

U can just do a google search on these products under zeovit. You'll get tons of info. You can get zeovit products from reef depot. They are the only distributor. Let me know if you need help. :)

Cyno bacteria are one of the hardest bacteria to eradicate from they have taken a foot hold on your tank. I have had 2 such encounters in my past 3 years of this hobby. Eryomythcin works but you tend to end up breeding "resistance" strands after a while.
