Is Pratas and Elephant Ear easy to keep?

GUys, are pratas and elephant ears easy to keep?? Do they need intense lighting and a lot of wave?? Pls comment!

Pratas and EE should not be under this section. Put under General reefing.

They are not considered difficult to keep.

Lights: PL will do

Wave: no effect

beside lights your water perimeter has too be good ....

if using PL u need at least two set of PL lighting ..... one is not strong enough for Pratas .....

elephant ear acn open up to very big, so you might not want to try that on a 2 feet.

You might like to stablized your water condition, once your water perimeter is good, it should not be a problem as they are general easy to keep. Remmber, buy size that fit your tank!!

bro the 2 corals are very beautiful but one thing u have to know is that these 2 corals need space to live in know more aboput them 1st before u buy don want u to regret

they do.... I have been keeping pratas for more than a year.... personally, for the pratas to bloat up real nice and fat...key is not to touch it after you decided a gd location for it(usually sandbed - though my green is on the rockscape)...basically ...leave it alone, if not it will be stressed and eventually dies....

another thing....keep the angels away from them...I notice they like to nip on pratas...esp the RED ONES

yeah pratas not a big prob, i had a few last yr. My prob was when one of my larger lr dropped on them. Heart pain.

i am thinking of getting a prata but can't seem to find it. but after looking at this thread, i noticed that the nice pratas you all have are the small button looking coral sold at LFS. am i correct or am i wrong?

Yup that is the prata that look like buttons.Mine is not like that. What I was told is that they shld not be touched and just leave it. If not , it will not open up.
