do hermit snail kill abalone?

Nope.. My friend keeping few Blue leg Hermit with 2 abalone.. so far more than 3 years.. no problem...

Small hermits are generally peaceful. Medium and big size ones can be destructive.

I've lost quite a few turbo snails to those blue legged hermits.

The smaller hermit crab species don't seem to bother turbo snails from my observations.

If they do try to get onto the snails, they just twist their shells and the crabs are sent hurtling away.

Actually I'll say eventually they r crab. So basically they eat whatever thing they can grab. Even fishes if given a chance to...

Bro.. the hermits will kill the turbo snails to steal their shell for their new home when they are growing.. its nothing to do with "grabbing whatever thing" or "heng"...
