Thanks guys for the kind words.

However I wish to stress that I am not trying to stop people from DIYing the TUBBY. In fact as long as you know what you are doing and need to clarify some doubts, you can pm me and ask me nicely too.

I am just a fellow reefer who turned part time salesman. But I still wish to know more reefers as friends rather than customers. Many who bought things from me or pmed me will know that I try to help out as far as I can.

I am glad too to have known many new reef hobbyists and some are now whom I consider good friends. I was even very surprised when a fellow reefer coming to my place actually bought me prata and mutton curry. hehehe you know who you are.

However I have to say that as with all things in the business world, I too have seen the ugly side of the reefing community. And frankly speaking, if I could afford it, I would rather not have gone towards the part time salesman. I guess I am not built to be a businessman. :(

Hi,

Cookiemonster, don't feel discourage. I fully support you. Never give up easily. Doing business is not easy, Since you have made up your mind in this field, you should progressively improve and enhance ur products now and then. I don't know much about you but I can sense about the hard feeling and pain in you. Just remember, Do it for those who support and admire ur works despite of criticism. Hope u will comes out with more bright ideas product to benefit reefers. Wish u a Merry Christmas.

I've checked the schematic and if the 240V/12V step down transformer is earthed at the 240V side. It would be very safe.

For those who wants to commercialised their DIY products, I'll support them for their interest. Don't get easily discouraged by negative comment. It is part & parcel of being an entrepenuer. Anyway, treat this comments as constructive feedback to improve on your design further.

Cheers to those DIYers :yeah:

Yup...knowing Cookie personally, I will stand by him...a man worthy of mention and faith... :)

And dun worry...Cookie...me not idolising you...:lol::lol:

He is one person whom even though you did not know for long but yet comfortable to trust... :)

profit was never his objective when he decided to commercialise the Tubby... and I am a happy user of his Tubby. :)

Maybe some diy gurus should come up with an Automatic Food Feeder for wet fish feed such as frozen brine shrimps, cyclops etc etc ... :P

Out of curiosity's sake, just wondering if anyone thought of building a top-up system by modifying a toilet wc?? it uses a float to actuvate a valve, and it's purely mechanical and safe (no electricity)... :)

It would require water pressure but that can be achieved using a pump connected to the valve plus a small alternative outlet (for water flow then the valve is closed, so as not not spoil the pump).
