recommendation for skimmer

So envy. Got people set up for u your tank. Haha...

Hahahaha.... ya luckily i joined this forum :) if not will never know of him...

The tank is basically done already, just needed his extra help with the skimmer :)

Ya. People here very friendly... Not much politics unlike other fish forum a bit a bit kana banned,zap point etc.

Some1 doesn't 1 2 do anything find an excuse,some1 1 2 do something find a mean!

btw, i just installed a beckett skimmer earlier when it was skimming, black foam and stuff appeared... however after running for about 5hrs, like nothing foaming up leh... is it normal? skimmer seems to be working fine, lots of tiny bubbles but like nothing foaming up?

Where did u place it? Together with return pump? If so the fluctuating level of water may affect the skimming rate.

Got it tune properly is also very important.

actually the skimmer is a beckett skimmer, water is being pumped from the return section of the sump to the skimmer and back to 1st section of the pump... iwarna setup for me one leh....

Meaning skimmer not insump la? Only pump in it? If that case should be alright la. Observe for few days c how lo anyway iwarna set for u wan should be no problem la...

Ya... only pump in :) yup will observe for a few days... was reading somewhere new tank might not have enuf nutrients for it to skim..... dunno la.. see a few days how :)

some skimmer are also more sensitive to water level and will require fine tuning periodically.

but yours shld be ok.

just try to keep the water level constant and observe.

Everything in marine life required paitence.

Wat u say also true new water less nurtrient so not much thing to skim

Thanks bro. Yup twisted the knob abit and walla! the foaming started... will be doing a top up later today when i get home from work to install the new chiller (thanks to RedDevil bro) :)

hopefully this weekend if temp more or less there can try to add in abit of LPS liao :)

note to self - stop buying stuff....

Yup i realise that too... skimmer skim skim all the black stuff out then after awhile like nothing to skim liao... ahahaha.... surprisingly my 2 clowns doing fine...

can't say much for my starfishes though... dunno they alive or not... ahahaha... how to tell huh?
