Hi all, was wondering if I still need to add antichlorine and antichloramine solution (API Genesis) to the water coming out of the DI system before using the water to create a salt mix? Thx.

for me i just use directly from the DI unit, add water then pour in salt and put a small wavemaker inside.

let in run for a day or so.i think the carbon in the 1st housin do remove some of the chlorine(hope i'm right).

Too many hobby......too little money!

Ok thx for the quick reply. Anyway was wondering if the TDS meter is supplied along with the DI system?

Carbon and DI resin will removes almost everything from the water thus you will get a TDS (Total Dissolve Solids) reading of 0 when your unit in new. However, as you use for longer period the TDS will slowly climb and most people will change to new carbon and DI resin upon reaching an reading of 10+ TDS.

That's why its imperative to get a TDS if you current unit does not comes with. A handheld TDS is easily available in more LFS for around $60.
