Brittlestar?

Sorry for posing so many questions tonight, this fella fell out within seconds of the dip.

I've read that brittlestars are good detrivores. Is this one of them?

Ya, this fella should be safe.. Unless you see green serpent brittle star as pic and profile below from book "What Invertebrates? A buyer's guide for marine aquariums Pg 169":

then better beware and best remove it.... Cheers...

you're unlikely to get green brittlestars in the liverock........ those are just normal brittlestars.

green brittlestars are not reefsafe but they don't ferociously hunt for food. most of the time fishes are healthy and fast enough to escape unless sick or sleeping...
