that's a chiton. nocturnal and reefsafe. preferring to feed on algae.

I suggested remove it... Although lots research claim they are reefsafe.. but I suspected they might hurt softy like zoas in long run....

Even some books also suggested them reefsafe or not in implicit way..

Pls find below some info on "Chiton" from book "What Invertebrates? A buyer's guide for marine aquariums Pg 131":
