No, you wont add Ca into your water efficiently by just using aragonoite sands.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Inside the CR, the pH can be quite low (abt 6.5) to dissolve the calcium media.

Putting the calcium media in the sump will not dissolve the media as the reef water's pH is more than 8.0. Putting the calcium media will be a nitrate factory instead.

Hi brother,

What if, I would to leave 1 to 2 inches of space (using the light square plastic and putting fine green net on top, at the paremeter of this light square platic using rubber host to tighten all four sides) then laying the aragonite sands on top of this "air free" area, defussion (hope is correct spelling) take place and would dissoved the fine aragonite sands (which take some time of course) then would it be able to release CA into water?

The tank water need to have low pH to dissolve the aragonite, and I don't think it is possible in marine environment.
