SRC Member raydiative Posted May 12, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted May 12, 2010 your candy cane looks like its gonna be overrun by red slime or some red algae... if you dun remove them, they would eventually grow over the candy cane and kill them... prata looks kind of stress.. there seem to be some exposed skeleton.. is the picture taken when the lights are on or off? SRC Member desideria Posted May 12, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted May 12, 2010 Maybe your tank has allot of dead spots? not enough flow? High Phosphates? Have you tested for phosphates? Rowaphos is a good media to remove phosphates. another good media to remove red slime algae is the zeovit : Coral snow and Zeozym combination. Expensive but works like a charm. good luck Quote Cheers, Desi Sheldon (TBBT): A little misunderstanding? Galileo and the Pope had a little misunderstanding... SRC Member raydiative Posted May 12, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted May 12, 2010 chances are your phosphate and nitrate level are very high... did you do any readings of the both lately? From the pics you provide, its seems like you have an algae issue... Solution? Ensure your water condition is pristine... even with good water condition algae will still grow but very slowly.. think you can try adding a "vegetarian" fish or just manual labour.. HTH! Eniram
i don't think its red slime as shown in your pic, could be an algae. A clearer re sized picture would be good
