Anemone
Hi all, Got a 7 head Duncan from RB last nite. Just wondering what kind of flowrate the duncan prefers as mine isn't opening wide after a day (under low/medium flow). Or maybe i just have to wait a bit longer. SRC Member Ketchup Posted May 7, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted May 7, 2010 I think just wait a while. We got one from RB a week ago and it's doing well. In fact, we shifted it twice (because of placement reason) and both spots seems to be fine. One was stronger but indirect flow, the other medium but more direct flow. I find Duncans are pretty hardy. Give them stable calcium they will split like crazy (: Quote Happy Reefing, Marc J.
Senior Reefer yikai Posted May 7, 2010 Senior Reefer Share Posted May 7, 2010 duncans are extremely hardy. give them good lighting, medium is fine. water movement medium too. don't blast them. but give them ample flow. feed them regularly with mysis if you want, about once or twice a week. they split like mad if given good conditions and can grow to twice the amount of heads in just a few months. CFOh
thanks for all the replies. will wait a few more days n monitor progress. If still not yet open.. then better move to other spotted... although lots claim they are Low-Moderate lighting requirement.. I found they still prefer high light.. I got 3 branches of them, at different level.. I found that highers one which near to MH and T5 are the biggest polyps in long run.... about flow, try Give them moderate or indirect flow...
