Picture 2

Rust Damage area on my metal stand.

Convention method would be very troublesome as u would need to sand the rust damage area and follow up by applying a new coat of painting, which would take lots of time and effort. At time the rust do come back.

Picture 3

Appying Rid Rust,

As per the product u need rust or iron oxide for this chemical to work. Thus i only use a wet cloth to wipe the rust damage area and free it from flaky and loose rusts. Also dust or oil or any chemical on it.

Then i apply Rid Rust with a help of a brush or cotton wood , as the chemical is easily wash off using just water unlike paint. No messy sanding or painting is need.

:)

Picture 4 and 5 shows the rust damage metal after 24hr and 48hrs respectively which is the time needed for them to settle in.

It would change the rust area into a dark black coating and i did apply some drops of salt water on the treated area for a few day to test if the rust do appear but so far none came back.

:)

Not sure bout this one but I have used another product from the normal hardware store that does the same thing. Retail for $8.50 for a bottle. It is called rust converter. It's kind of a metal primer but works but changing rust into a black form. kinda desolves it. Metal turns black. A normal metal primer needs to be applied on clean metal free of rust. but rust converter is a primer for metal with rust.

After it has dried, apply epoxy paint and the metal stand is protect from rust. The primer also make the paint stick to the metal very well thus further protect the metal. Will post a treated stand pics later.

I believe you are talking about 'Hammerite'. Tried that with my freshwater stand. Works.

Not tried this Reefez thing, how much does this cost?
