Understand that once coraline algae exposed to light when without water it'll turn white.

Had just experience it yesterday only.

Is there any help to have the coraline grow back again on the white area?

Some1 doesn't 1 2 do anything find an excuse,some1 1 2 do something find a mean!

Bro, the coraline is dead and cannot be revived.

just leave the rock in the tank and wait for new coraline to grow.

Coralline Algae must be physically brought into your tank in order for it to reproduce and populate the various surfaces.

Coralline Algae can be introduced to your tank by:

Coralline covered Live Rock

Coralline scrapings from another tank

Commercial Coralline Algae starter packages

The more types of Coralline (green, pink, white, purple, red) that you add to your tank, the more you will see growing on your Live Rock, substrate and aquarium walls. Once you have some Coralline Algae in your tank, how do you get it to reproduce and spread throughout your tank? One simple method is to turn off all tank filters and skimmers, leaving any powerheads running. With a single edged razor blade, scrape the existing Coralline off the front and side tank walls. The water current generated by the powerhead will spread the Coralline scrapings throughout the tank where they will continue to grow. After an hour or so, turn the skimmers and filters back on.

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

So u mean the white part cannot revived but it will be covered by new coraline again?

Meaning new coraline algae can overwrite the white thing?

White part cannot be revived. It will only be covered by coraline algae if you have coraline algae on your other rocks and you place this piece of rock next to them. If all the rocks in your tank do not have coraline algae you will not be able to get any coraline algae.

If only a little part is white and the rest of the rock is covered with coralline algae then no issue. The coralline algae will grow over the bald patches.

kind of disagree leh....

I know seeding kind of speeding up the purple growth.

But even if you have just a tank of dead rocks, over time once the water condition in right, coraline will eventually grow in the tank.

Pls correct me if I am wrong.

Nope doesn't work that way with coralline algae... :eyebrow:

You need to seed the rocks with coralline algae for the coralline algae to grow. If you have all dead rocks with no coralline algae on them, then you will not be able to get any coralline algae growth on the rocks in future either.

Coraline algae can hitchhike on liverock holding corals, maybe that's how jacky got coraline from dead rocks.

Coraline can comes with rocks that are dead.. you dun have to necessarily seed them... seeding helps to speed up the growth as they will be able to anchor themself over all your rocks...

Still find it hard to accept. I have coraline growth on my tank walls. So are you guys saying saying that because I have coraline on my rocks, that is why my tank wall start to have a spot of coraline growth? Sounds a but far fetched.

My rocks are all 2 inches away from my tank walls.

Actually I don't know who is right... cause my rocks came with coralline to begin with... But I wouldn't be surprised if the algae got some spores or something that is suspended in seawater so no need contact to spread...
