what's the max volume to be considred nano? I don't think it will be determined by size as you can have different sizes for the same volume.

I believe the US definition of a nano tank is a tank below 20 gallons in water volume. A pico tank is a tank below 5 gallons in water volume.

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

Nano Agent: Your tank volume is 521ml over regulation, I'm afraid I've gotta ask you to decom.

Reefer: But... but sir... I accidentally top up too much fresh water this morning! My tank volume is within the limit I can assure you!

Nano Agent: (Writes up a ticket) That's not my problem. Salinity is 1.021, still within acceptable limit for salt water. Your tank is now 100.5 litres.

Nano Agent puts on sunglasses, walks off into the sunset.

Jokes aside, the largest tank size I know of in the nano sub forum is peacemaker's 2x1.5x1.5 IOS tank, if you don't count AhSiang's 4x2x2 tank which he is lazy to create a thread for.

It's just a guide though there are some people who say anything less than 55 gallons is also a nano... :eyebrow:

In Ah Siang's case, any tank he has is a nano regardless of the size... :upsidedown:

Mine is a 4x2x2 nano...its still a nano compared to a 10ft tank...

Mine's a 1.5 Ft cube! With an extra 6" of filter compartment... its really small, I tell you! :whistle

This will probably change soon...

Nah... nothing secretive. Still planning, not sure if I should go for it or not. My director came in to the office today, saw all the wires from my lights and vortech pump (I didn't do any cable management yet...) and commented that he should start making me pay for the electrical bills... :cry:

      WTS Beautiful Pair of Common Cleanfish Pair

      With a heavy heart, I am selling my pair of beautiful common Clownfish. One is around 3 cm, the other 5 cm. They are being territorial suddenly (I changed tank) and the smaller fish including my baby parrotfish are being pushed or harassed. I can't have another tank and I don't have the heart to isolate them. They are not shy, they come close to the front of the tank when I'm around. Feed mix of flakes and frozen shrimp. I've learned to live and adore them so, if keen please ensure they go to good homes and won't be abandoned or given away.
