just got a 1/10 Artica and realised that its activation is not as stated in the manual, ie I set my desired temp at 28.6, it cuts in at 29.1 and stops at 28.6.

however, the manual states that it kicks-in/stops at +/- 1 degree C.

is this normal? i have not changed anything else other than the desired temp.

thanks

bro, maybe you wanna try setting the temp of the chiller to the temp in the tank.

(you will need a thermometer in the tank to meaure its temp then set the chiller temp to that temp using the instructions below.)

good luck.

I believe that the Artica chiller will turn itself on/off within +/- 1 deg F based on the set temperature.

My Setup:

oops I did not read properly......

I think your chiller should cut off at about 28.2 deg. (My 1/15HP Artica chiller works this way)

maybe you would like to check with Raydiative.

He is using 1/10 HP.

Hi,

from what I know arctica chillers, kicks in at 0.5 degree difference. so if you set at 28.6, it's working fine that it kicks in at 29.1 which is 0.5 degrees higher than your preset temp.. then it should cool it down to 28.5 then stop.. ar least thats how it works for my 1/4

the manual of +/- 1 is Farenheit.. not Degrees Celcius. :P

Cheers, ;)

yes, that 's the way it is working right now, thanks for all the responses, just want to make sure as the other chiller, also of Artica-make, is using a controller, hence not too sure of the way it works. thanks

bro seen u've an ext thermostat y don't u connect it up

and set ur chiller temp lower to 1.5 degree than the ext thermostat like this u can have 1 degree different

have not done the wiring and currently looking for a swee-swee box to house everything inside. hence thought of using the chiller as it is for the time being.

That was my initial concern too, what i wanted to check was whether it is activited upon +/- 0.5 instead of 1 - my preset was at 28.6 - that means it will kick in at 29.1 (28.6 + 0.5) and cuts off at 28.1 (28.6 - 0.5).

currently mine kicks in at 29.1 and stops at 28.6.

I guessed you guys can check with the Arctica service guy when you called in for the 2 free services.
