hi guy, Anyone keep maiden hair plant in their main tan before and are they easy to keep? Another question is will it go sexual and suffocate the tank when there is light on/off period? Thanks. :upsidedown:

had it in my refugium last time until my chaetos outgrew it, thus it eventually melted. ( it was just a small bunch)

i would recommend you to give it more wave/light according to its size/length, if its a large bunch and theres insufficient wave/light, i believe the rotting from the interior upwards can crash a tank due to some toxic substance it holds.

not sure about the sexual or asexual part but they are a form of algae. i do know if you cant keep them in check at where it is now(enough light), they will break loose(this is due to the bottom rotting off) and grow at places with stronger light and flow.

Brown SPS > Kinder Surprise

White SPS = Kinder Surprise after expiry date

Assumption killed the dinosaurs, they didnt have test kits.

Very difficult to keep, needs strong lights and strong wave. Also algae eaters loves them compare to the rest, dun waste your money...

maiden hair: fishes leave them alone because of its toxicity composite.

need constant flow over them at relatively strong light.

conclusion: hard to keep, read somewhere it cannot tolerate nitrate. tried twice but all wither away
