NP Bio Pellet and AZNO3

Hi Guys. I've been running the Bio Pellet via an FR for more than two weeks now. I noticed my nitrate level has gone down but not to my desired level.

As a result I still have two anthias died on me yesterday. Other anthias even though are feeding well but looked like losing weight easily. My question is can I speed up the reduction of nitrate by dosing AZNO3? FYI, I've been feeding my fishes with Henry's Reef Gourmet.

I also have a refugium running 24hrs with chaeto.

Any advise are welcome. :thanks:

very unlikely that your fishes died because of NO3 unless ur NO3 is sky high.

though eating well and not gaining weight is due to internal infection/bacteria. normally for them, the shit/poo is stringy white.

so take note of that.

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

sad to say, its hard to treat.

unless you QT your fish. and effective medication are normally controlled in singapore.

unless you know where to get the source. even if you get the source, its only helps in the early stages.

metronidazole and praziquantel are good for kicking parasite out from the fish.

furan, kanamycin, ampicilin.

kana and amp to be added into food for effective removal of internal bacterial.

all the best. if you got some left over penicilin, maybe you can soak part of the pills into food and offer them as well.

Thanks for the info LAW. I guess as much about it. That's why I believe in keeping my water pristine clean and hopefully I can reach zero nitrate in the fastest time. In the meantime I'll watch carefully what I feed. At the end of the day hopefully my fishes will be immune to the disease and I'll start QT my new fishes b4 adding to my DT.

So does anyone else have any experience mixing AZNO3 with the BIO Pellet?

Hi, is it normal for the water to turn cloudy after putting N/P Bio Pellet into the filter?
