Ph 7.7

Probably your kH is low. Try buffering it up with commercial kH buffers or sodium bicarbonate. If your kH is above 8 and the pH is still low, it means that you are not driving the CO2 out of your water fast enough. Increased aeration in the sump will help, alternatively reduce your stocking if you have a lot of fish.

Always something more important than fish.

use seachem reef builder to boost your pH. but remember to do it slowly; not more than 0.2 per day. you may also want to buy a KH test to make sure you don't overdose reef builder. for a marine tank, a pH of anywhere between 8.0-8.3 is considered good. 8.3 is considered optimal. also note that you should raise the red flag if your pH goes beyond 8.3, cos that means that you are either overdosing your reef builder or something else is screwing with your pH, either of which is not good.

Hi wilson

- increasing aeration will raise PH. you can also create more surface agitation. That will also increase oxygen level.

- dose PH buffers. I use Kent Marine Pro-dKH (Liquid type) very effective.

Are you topping up with distilled water?

home tank

use coralife salt previously, ph 8.2-8.3

changed to oceanic, ph reading drop to 8.0

office tank(100% oceanic saltmix)

ph of tap water 8.6, ph of oceanic saltmix 8.1

after few days in tank, ph 7.9

not sure if its due to oceanic salt

maybe other bro using oceanic salt can share their ph reading

not adding any supplements

cheers
