They need to get used to open during the day I guess. I just discovered mine opens after lights off even without food in the water..

I have been advised by a local LFS that sun corals need to be caved for them to be opened, ie: no direct light

Yay..finally got my suncoral acclimatized...under BLINDING T5s.......

I found it's not good to move suncorals around often..their tissue gets rubbed off very easily..you can see their pigments on ur fingertips after moving them and you can see the white patch of skeleton where u touched...but usually recovers quite fast for healthy specimen..mine recovers within 1 day....

Feeding each individual polyp 1 mysis a day......backache...

Hmmm..must make sure each polyp get fair share mah..anyway if I just throw the food on them my fishes will probably get the food before the polyps catch enough.

My yellow tang, cleaner shrimp, perculas and sri lankan scooters are all robbers....

Hmm..makes me wonder if there is more than 1 species of black sun coral..Cause mine seems to have a greenish tinge to its tissues..

Anyway...mine was gotten from OP...at a very very attractive price.....
