Crystal Pro Canister Refill

Hey guys, i may have an idea on refilling the crystal pro canister with DI resin. I have not tried it out myself, but here goes.

Drill a respectable hole at the top of the depleted canister (where the water comes out); remove the filter pad with a pair of tweezers and flush the depleted resin out. Try not to touch the filter pad at the bottom, but if it comes out, too bad.

Now, fill the canister with new resin through the hole at the top. You can use a funnel to make your job easier. BUT, fill the canister HALFWAY.

Now, you can stick the refilled canister back into the unit and continue running. You must run the water through slowly. The DI resin will rise and fall, but will not come out of the hole at the top due to insufficient water flow from the bottom. Something like an underpowered fluidisied reactor.

Pass the water through the resin as many times as needed to get the TDS down to 0.

Repeat as many times as you like until you accidentally drop the refill canister and crack it. You can even mix activated carbon with the resin, or something like that...and some of you can even try to recharge the resin.

Now, the problem will be where to get DI resin. I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Not even in C328. Any shop here that sells?

Air tight? The hole should be drilled at the spot shown on the picture...If i understand how the system works, i do not see how drilling a hole at that location would comprimise the enitre thing. After all, there are already holes there; we are just making them bigger so we can get the used resin out and the new resin in.

Who knows of a shop that sells DI resin alone? The one in that particular canister is all but exhausted. I can try my method out.
