SRC Member tunicate Posted March 29, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted March 29, 2010 Hi All, Attached is some red color looking seaweed that started growing out of my LR a couple months ago. (1)Can someone help to identify this? (2)Does it export nitrates or phosphates from the water? (3)Should I trim it off? (Not sure how large it'll grow) Thanks,

(Not sure how large it'll grow) Thanks, it is a macro algae.. not sure of the name but as what bro iskay suggest. yes it exports nitrates and phosphates. you could trim it off if it is hindering the look of your scape but do sell me some of it! All mangroves, seaweed and algae have nutrients export abilities as they are around solely due to it.
