Those from the northern part of Malaysia will know about this famous dish from Teluk Intan formerly Teluk Anson, Ipoh.

Anson Chee Cheong Fun

The unique thing about Anson Chee Cheong Fun is that it does not comes with the usual sweet sauce and are filled with turnips, spring onions and dried shrimp.

I have never tried the real mccoy in Ipoh but have always heard my Malaysian friends talk about them.

Anyway last we there twice (Thurs & Sat), 1st with friends, then with family. We had an enjoyable meal, both my sons like it so much that they keep saying "Thank you daddy for bringing us try the white noodles, very nice leh". ;)

I am not sure whether they are directly related with the original Teluk Intan shop but the looks seems similar and the taste was to our likings even my Malaysian friends.

Beside, Anson CCF, they also have mushroom CCF, curry chicken noodle, Yong Tau Foo, Nasi Lemak, yam cake, pumpkin cake and some home made chinese biscuits.

I have tried the Curry Chicken noodle, Anson CCF, Mushroom CCF and Yong Tau Foo and here's my verdict:

* Anson CCF - It's different from the CCF we are used to which are either without filling or the shanghai version with fillings. The use of turnip and fried spring onions give the CCF an unique taste and crunchiness. As the CCF is served without sweet sauce the fillings also provide the filling enhancing the dish with its unqiue savoury flavours. The dish worth trying twice in a week! ;)

* Curry Chicken Noodle - Nothing to shout about, something to fill your stomach while your sample the Anson CCF.

* Mushroom CCF - Was a little bland to our likings.

* Yong Tau Foo - Served the Hakka style i.e. you cannot pick and choose your items and serve semi dry in a common platter. Not to our liking.

Location: 324P Changi Road Singapore 419799 near Telok Kurau and Changi Road Junction.

Promo: $0.50 for a bowl of soya bean curd 6pm to 1am

Happy dining.
