SRC Member LaW Posted March 25, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted March 25, 2010 the six line can be a pain for other fish. especially wrasse, given that its well settled. the dottyback as well. Quote If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless. Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. || Tank: 78" x 30" x 30" || Sump: 48" x 22" x 20" || Lights: PowerModule 10 X 80W|| Returns: 2 x HF32 || || Skimmer: BubbleKing Supermarin 300 || Wavemaker: 3 x 6100 & 1 x 6200, 2 x Wavebox 6212, WavySea || || FR: 2 x FR150 || NR: Sulphur Denitrator || CR: RM Custom Made 8" || KR: Deltec KM500 || TopUp: Tunze Osmolator 3155 || || UV: Coralife 12X 36W || Ozonizer: Sanders C200|| Controller: GHL Profilux Plus II Ex ||
SRC Member comycus Posted March 26, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted March 26, 2010 I would add the 6 line and dottyback last, and there will still be a risk of them being too aggressive for their tankmates due to the small tank size. Just wondering, if you're already adding Mccosker, why do you wanna add carpenter since it looks alittle like mccosker, just less brillant? SRC Member Ketchup Posted March 26, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted March 26, 2010 I think most if not all your fishes are bottom/cave dwellers... you will need a lot of nooks and crevices for them to hide/sleep.. which may be difficult in a 2 ft cube. Emmanuel
oh ok.. i will add the dottyback and six line last. I've a second compartment in my sump which i'm intending to put in chaetos .. i'm wondering if i can hold both the fishes in that compartment first without doing them any harm ? hey ketchup.. i was actually using ur reef log as a guide(very informative) .. but i see that u added a prawn during cycling process. but may i know what is the benefits of having a rotting prawn in the tank ? I think i saw ur skimmer at the last compartment with the return pump.. does it produce microbubbles back into the display tank caused by the skimmer ? my sump is going to be a relatively small one and hence my skimmer and return will be at the same compartment. i foresee some trouble with the design. many thanks =)
FuEl
I would suggest you leave out the royal dottyback and the six-line wrasse. In such a small tank, it does'nt matter whether you add them first or last. They are by nature very aggressive fish. Your other livestocks are more pricey, why would you wish to risk them?
