Changes on New Upgrade

Kudos to Larry for upgrading the server. Looks more professional and neater.

I had issues locating some of the old function.

Posting my discoveries here in case some of you encounter the same issues.

If you find something interesting about the new upgrade or have issue with some of the old functions, please feel free to list them here.

1) View New Posts

This has been changed to "View New Content" located at the top right.

2) My Mailbox

You mailbox can be accessed by clicking your name at the top right corner of the page using the drop down box.

** all mailboxes have been emptied.

3) My Title

You can now add your own title below your avatar.

Click on your name to go to you profile.

Click on the edit your profile button on the top right.

Add your title in the field listed.

4) Sent Messages

Your inbox automatically saves a copy of the sent message now. Much more convenient to trace your outgoing messages.

5) Uploading multiple pics

Another wonderful feature. By holding cntrl key, you can now select multiple pics to upload. Awesome!

6) Recent Status Update:

This is like "whats on your mind" box in Facebook.

Only your last status entered will be displayed.

7) Reputation points.

You are now given points that you can use to vote positively / negatively on a reefers post.

These points will add up to a reefer reputation. Stay tune for more details from the mods.

8) SRC Homepage

Check back the front page often. Besides the status update on the right, you now have "today's top posters", "recently added topics", and a list of your "watched topics" on the right hand side of the page. there is a new "recently added images" on the top row. Checked these features out. really cool stuff.

9) Rating for Sale/ Bid thread.

Now you can assist newbies to identify worthy to be bidded items or sales worth going for.

If you see a sale thread and the item is a good item being sold at a reasonable price, you can give that topic a higher rating.

Like wise for bids thread, if the item is a rare/ exotic frag to die for, you can give a 5* rating for that topic. If the bid is opened for a normal LS, then you can rate it a one star. This will help newbies to discern which are the real deal. Go to top of the sale/ bid topic, there is a "rate topic" field on the top right.

Just simply select the number of stars that you want to award.

1) Anyone knows how the voting of the post up and down works? (the mini + and - icon on the bottom of the post.)

2) Also how does the reputation system works?

pls look into the issue whenever we click "back" button on our browser. Always need to refresh for it to load.

well, i think it is better to put a notice of upgrading in forum before doing any upgrades, so people can at least aware of it instead of sudden shock

I noticed a couple of things as well

Some of the codes seems to be appearing in some threads.. also, there's is this <POST SNAPBACK> thing on certain threads (i think is related to quoted replies)

I believe they are both related. Let's say, Jacky gives sound advice to someone with a question and other reefers like it, they can "upvote" the comment, and (I'm guessing) it will go towards his reputation points. If some joker trolls the forum, likewise, he could be "downvoted" by other members.

I kinda like this kind of system. In those query related threads, it is easier to sift out the better advice as voted by the community. And when dealing with reefers, can just look at the overall reputation and see if you can trust them.

Edit: I tried to vote up some comments and it says that I have exceeded my quota of positive votes for the day lol.

is it... i noticed this issue when im at markerplace, trying to click back, always prompt me to refresh. Even on safari web browser also same.

nope I dun have this issue in pasar malam too..... can click back like 5 pages. did not receive any prompt on refreshing the page.

Not sure if it was my screen. Over at "Weekly LFS Livestock Update" thread and some others, the "Quoted" comments by reefers were not boxed up in green like this thread here. Hence, it bit confusing trying to differentiate the comments by different reefers.

Those were the old posts before the upgrade.

The new posts will have the green box.
