I think main question is what corals you intend to place in your tank. 3 x 180w will definately be much brighter than 2 x 230W. I would suspect that the spread of light will be more even with 3x180w than 2x230w.

i intend to get G1 180 if need so

Maybe u could check with De lighting whether any G1 180 has been brought in to SG b4. If yes, feedback would be nice

U need to check with Razali (Dr Evil) on this. I believe that the G1 models can either be hung on the ceiling or use a pair of legs to rest on the tank.

Razali is currently having a 20% discount on the G1 models. The 180W is still available according to his website.

3ft, the G2-180 sld be sufficient imo.

For 4 footer, 2 sets of either G2-110 or G2-160 will be sufficent i hope.

In any case its recommended to supplement with T5.

Wish they have standard tank sizes for their multiple models - example one model for a 3 feet tank and other models for a 4 feet or 5 feet tank etc ..

Perhaps it is their sale strategy to get you to buy more than 1 set. lol ....
