Just wondering is there any avid user of Seachem Products such as MatrixCarbon/PhosGuard/SeaGel?

Any feedbacks on the effectiveness?

I have used Seachem Matrix in my 2x1x1 FOWLR and 3x2x2 reef tanks previously and they have never been effective in reducing the nitrates in my tanks. I only managed to reduce my nitrates through using AZ NO3 and later Prodibio Bio Clean and Bio Digest.

Haha... Guess it is back to the good old Rowa Products...

yup bro,if really want to see its effectiveness, rowa is still the best, brought seagel and the phosphate nv go down til i brought rowaphos.. =.=

Hmmm, I guess will use back what i used to use...

no experience with the others except matrix carbon--bad... matrix carbon more like many broken pieces than standard size pellets...many powdery particles...need rinse many times...easily break apart and slip out of 1mm hole media bags and my red sea prism media basket...uneven size...

going back to brightwell carbonit-P...nice standard size...last longer and very obvious better clarity in tank all other things being equal..using same amount..

yeah,seagel not that good.Way below my expectations.But i see some improvement,not much though

actually seagel IS useful.When i was using it, therI know this is contraditing my earliee was no red slime algae,now there is since i stopped usin it reply. but there wasn't any red slime when i posted it.unless there are other easons,i think seagel is useful,i haven't tried the rest though
