nice polyp extension but growth is so slow...just bought seachem's reef advantage calcium to add on to weekly doing of liquid reef...coralline algae competing for calcium i guess...

check and reduce your phosphate level...too high will retard their growth...also dose kh + your usual calcium routine...

but coralline algae growth is rather good.. think the recipe for good coralline algae growth is almost similar to SPS ? gd flow, lighting, low phosphates low nitrates ?

pls advise/ correct me..

Bro, glad the frags are doing well and fine in your tank, very happy to see the pearl berry with such good polyp extention :welldone:

Btw, to have good sps growth you really need to keep tab on the Ca Kh and Mg level.

Proper lighting also plays a part in the sps growth because the symbiotic algea needs that to produce food for the sps it host.

I agree with Ah Siang that the nutrient level could be a factor in prohibiting your sps growth. Regular water change / bacterial method to reduce your nutrient level would give you good result in terms of growth.

Treat others the way you wanna be treated...

might be the slack in WC...sometimes skip a WC (once in 2 weeks) instead of every week :paiseh: ... must be more disciplined so as not to waste ur effort in culturing such nice healthy frags and of course do justice to my wallet...

choose to have sps must work for it !!

thanks for the advise/ reminder..better work on my nutrient levels or the additives would not have their desired effect...
