hmm.. I couldn't phantom why one would need a De-Nitrator urgently.. to have a fully working de-nitrator would take months..

Not really, am using the same as Terryz but with sulphur medium. It take full 3 days to cycle in the chamber to colonise the bacteria and produce 0ppm nitrate at the effluent. Afterwhich drip a drop/sec, when time progress drip faster and faster.

Setback is that after couple of months it easily producing white slimmy film in chamber. So need maintainance often, or it chock drip causing effluent drip hydrogen sulphide (rotten egg smell)

Stopped running coz small for my tank and now running ATS, also bacteria driven with vodka dosing.

maybe you are the rare few or a really matured system.. most have commented it takes weeks.. and that saying, its not even fully efficient yet.. even mine took months.. anyway I don't have that white slimy stuff you mentioned. So its never advisable to give hopes that a denitrator will work once setup.. if it takes few months for a tank, one is basically screwed on the nitrate..

Yap I agreed with you arcanehacker, my system is matured 2yrs plus.

Anyway the denitrator had been sold to a nice reefer.

Sorry thi46 never received your reply since then, so on FCFS basis have to let it go.
