Qn on tunze nano reefpack

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of restarting a nano tank. Probably a FOWLR first and was thinking of reusing my 1foot cube.

Would a tunze nano reefpack be sufficient for filtering and skimming? I have a eheim 2211 cannister. Would it be beneficial if I use this as well or it will be an issue with detritus.

And where in the East area I can get my hands on the Tunze as well as some live sand and rocks.? And is there a 1.5ft cube readily available off the rack?

Thanks!!

upgrading??????

Hey Razali... upgrading might be a wrong word.....

Rather I need to change the dimension of the tank and move it to another location.

Length of new tank = 2.5 ft or 3 ft. (or a interconnection of two 1.5ft)

width will prob be only 1 ft.

height either 1 ft or 1.5 ft

So water volume is still almost the same as my current tank.

jacky i dun think 1 ft width is appropriate. last time i had a tank with 1 ft width and all the live rocks are so hard to place.

furthermore , if the rock are too close to the glass, ur magnet cleaner might not be able to pass that spot..

nano cube itself is hard to scape.

a 1.5 ft is more difficult than a 2ft cube

a 1 ft cube is more difficult than a 1.5 ft cube.

of course, pico is even worse.... just ask kimkim :)

if you place the reefpack intelligently, it will take only 2 inch of the depth away.

Place it the way I did. (check out my tank thread)

As to scaping, choose all the mini small rocks.

choice of rocks are very important in nanos.

you can epoxy them to form a nice scape.

It is difficult to leave the tank wall clear for magnet cleaner especially for small nanos. but it can be done if the right rocks are used.

scape minimally with a lot arc shaped rocks instead of flat ones.

i believe we shd offer watever we can our LS bah, even if it will be mafun and and take up alot of the space..

nano and below all very hard to scape de la..my pico i can scape until i vomit blood, curse and swear at times..but thats wat we have to accept if we want a small tank.

i can scape until hands and arms at weird positions..scape until cramp i tell u..maintainence oso headache..

But all will be worth it once everything settled bah.. ;) js do it bro, i have a prizm skimmer with a surface attachment in my pico.it takes up hell lot of space but at least i feel at ease :whistle
