Hi DIY gurus.

I have a question on the Resun CL650 Chiller.

Due to my present CL650 temperature sensor behave weird, I have decided to convert to external thermostat.

I have change a 10K NTC temperature sensor bought from SLT.

The display showing a value of 1/2 of the actual reading.

I'm suspecting this big diff is due to the resistance of the thermostat.

Please kindly advice if you have done similar modification for resun cl650.

Thanks.

Tank : 3 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup end Feb 2014 ) --> 4 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup early Nov 2016 )
Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC6 --> Bubble Magus Curve 7
Return pump : Jebao 10000l/h ( down in 17th December 2014 ) --> Jebao DC-12000 ( 19th December 2014 )
Compressor drop-in coil
Wavemaker : Tunze 6105 x 1

ok first urs is a full set of external thermostat or u just buy the thermostat itself and bringe it to the original connector??

Hi bro.

I'm using just the thermostat itself connecting to the original controller.

Thanks.

oh ok that's the reason why it doesn't match with the controller as their resistor which is the dip down thermostat is different so u may wanna adjust the controller then 0.5 degree is not that bad anywway

best of all is get an ext thermostat instead of just the thermosat and do take note resun chiller should be running on a 24v thermostat

I think need to clear some info here....

The display is showing 1/2 of the actual value.

Ex.

Display : 12degC

Actual : 28degC

Is because of the resistance, which i think i need to get a 5k at 25degC thermostat to get a closer reading for the display.

Currently is using 10k at 25degC thermostat.

So far the chiller kicks in and out seems to be normal.

Thanks.

good u may try that and see weather the reading correct but best is to get a ext better

Hi bro....

Thanks for your comments....

Getting a exact one is a bit difficult cause I don't have the specs of the resun original thermister....

Now can only test on the actual value...

Will go and get another one for testing it....

So far the chiller kicks in every 1hr for a duration of less than 10mins...

Tank : 3 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup end Feb 2014 ) --> 4 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup early Nov 2016 )
Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC6 --> Bubble Magus Curve 7

After going through the hassle, decided to get it repaired and so far i think this service company is the most reasonable price and also good service.

Thanks.
