lighting enough for clam???

is PL 55w White and blue and dymax t5 white and blue and another PL 55w white and blue.. enough for 2ft tank?? and if i use all that.. there wun be actinic light at night.. how?? no space to squeeze more tube already.. is it ok without blue light at night???

Depends on the size of your 2ft? 15, 20, 35 or 60 (2ft cube). Cos the height will make tons of difference in the lighting needs. Clams requires a lot of light. Especially the larger ones. If using PL light, best if place near the surface so it can get more lighting.

As for antinic blue, depends on your clam/corals. Antinic blue are the kinda light that can penetrate deeper water and can benefit corals/clams from deeper waters. Plus it make everything looks better to the eyes.

2x1.5x1.5 is 35 gallon tank. generally need 100-160watt of lights. But noly way to get so much light is to us lotsa T5 of a 150watt MH. But will cause heat problem. T5 should be cooler. 2x55watt should be ok. Thought you saying 1x55watt. 2x55watt will give you 110watt. just try not to place your clams on the sand bed and on higher ground where it can get more light.

Clams that less light demanding comes from deeper water and dont look so colorful. eg. a crocea less light demanding got more brown as due to the low light, less zoo alage in it (zoos give us the nice colours.

intend to get the 55PL but if i get tat i cant put the Actinic Light anymore.. no space.. PLS advise..
