Pardon my ignorance, but isn't that a Millie?

Looks like one. :)

walt smith posted this in his weekly stock in facebook as A. hyacinthus.

i myself also dunnot but there's another photo in his facebook that shows the whole colony in a better angle and got the typical hyacinthus shape. bah. everything looks the same to me.

anyway here's another pic from liveaquria.

:eyebrow: In fact, there are several sub-species assigned under the Acropora hyacinthus group...

Acropora hyacinthus Group

Tables, calices very even; digitate first, then grow to tables; labellate corallites

Acropora hyacinthus - Tables or plates; short, regular, rosette branches; wine pink

Acropora surculosa - Fuzzy, thick, tapering branches, and purplish color. Digitate with thick, stubby, tapering branches that tend to have numerous wart-like, stubby side branchlets that do not develop much. Branches appear fuzzy, especially toward their base, as a result of expanded polyps. Polyps have one especially lonf tentacle which is responsible for this fuzzy appearance. Colonies are brownish purple.

Acropora cytherea (= Acropora symmetrica) - tabletop with anastomosing branches, can slide fingers through spaces, at least partway; crumbly texture

Acropora microcladus - small tables (50 cm maximum), pink, just subtidally at reef edges

Acropora paniculata - more open anastomosing than Acropora cytherea, more delicate; very fine structure

so you're the one who got the black tang.

make sure it eats... ALOT.

at least 3 times a day. a zebrasoma tang this size is not easy especially to keep the body weight.

thanks bro,

This is what I am feeding the little blackie.. :yahoo:

post-16749-087354600 1283533083_thumb.jp

post-16749-004881800 1283793924_thumb.jp

Try getting those red grape algae plants and dimmer lightings.

Yet it is a challenge...

shaking can mean flukes or ich.

if it's ich, it will be very dangerous for a tang this size.

the consolation is that zebrasoma tangs usually more resistant to ich. but a tang this size, keep your fingers crossed..

Since it's already in betta box, if there's ich developing jux quickly catch it out and QT. Hypo will be a better choice than copper for such a small fish.

thanks bro... I had already put some smallest grape in the betta box as titbits ... understand this is it natural source of food :agreed: ... but not sure it can help to flight the inch..?? :ooh:
